Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO is most of all a real business advisor. He is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, including development of financial and operational strategy, and ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve group assets and report accurate financial results.

Responsabilités clés

- Assist in formulating group’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives

- Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans

- Manage capital request and budgeting processes

- Develop performance measures supporting group's strategic direction

- Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team

- Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations, including on-site visits

- Lead all steps of mergers and acquisitions: develop business cases; oversee due diligence; negotiate acquisitions; plan, organize and execute business integration

- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile

- Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry

- Ensure that the company complies with all quebec legal and regulatory requirements

- Manage cash balances and cash forecasts

- Arrange for debt and equity financing where needed

- Develop an investment strategy and invest funds in accordance

- Represent the company externally with bankers and other significant stake holders

Exigences requises

- Strong business mindset

- University degree in Finance or Accounting

- Master's degree in business administration or Finance preferred

- CPA designation

- 10 + years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, with strategic planning and execution and partnering with an executive team

- Experience working in a growing multinational, with Canadian and international subsidiaries; and with knowledge of Quebec financial regulations.

- Prior experience with cross-cultural preferred

- Strong leadership skills and proven ability to conduct commercial transactions (mergers and acquisitions)

- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
